The Wat Xieng Muan, whose complete name is Wat Xieng Muan Vajiramangalaram, is an interesting example of a Luang Prabang style temple. According to oral tradition, the temple was built around 1853 by Phragna Sisonxay, during the reign of King Chantharath Koumane. But it is assumed that there has been a monastery on the same location for much longer.

Wat Xieng Muan and other interesting temples can be found on the Interactive map of Luang Prabang.
