A good example of the Luang Prabang style temple, is the abundantly decorated Wat Siphoutthabath. The name of this monastery means 'The temple of Buddha's marvellous footprint'. The temple consists of three small monasteries, forming an integral whole. On the door of this temple is an image of a person, a foreigner. According to some sources, this might be the Dutch Van Vusthoff, the first European to visit Laos
