Luang Namtha is a quiet little town, and the capital of the province with the same name, in the north of Laos. It is a good place to chill out before or after your adventures in the Nam Ha Protected Area, not far from here. Around Luang Namtha, there are several villages of ethnic minorities, which can be visited. The town is a major transport hub for buses going to all directions including China. That's why the town is always full of travellers and traders. About 6 kilometers south of the city, is the Luang Namtha airport.
